Frequently Asked Questions

How does The Saddle Hub work?

The Saddle Hub sells saddles on consignment, on behalf of private owners.  We do not trade / swap / buy outright.

If you would like us to sell your saddle for you,  we list, promote, manage inquiries and then receive the payment for your saddle into our Trust account, forwarding the money to your bank account once the sale is finalized.

We work on a commission structure which varies according to the price bracket in which your saddles sells.

How do I package my saddle?

People have different theories on the best way to package a saddle. Our preference is to package them into a "tea chest" removalist carton, these are nice and sturdy and the saddle travels well in them. Please do wrap your saddle in bubble wrap, in case the box in damaged in transit. Place some bubble wrap in the bottom, wrap some bubble wrap around the cantle and put the saddle in – pommel down. If your saddle has a cover, this will also help protect it.

Removalist cartons are available from removalists, Bunnings, independent hardware stores or packaging specialists. Please choose a sturdy grade, and consider the weight of the item.  Also remember to tape the box entirely around each edge.

What if my saddle is damaged whilst on trial?

Your saddle must come back from the trial in exactly the same condition as it was dispatched, otherwise there is no refund to the buyer.  For this reason it is necessary for all marks to be recorded on the paperwork you submit to us, as well as supporting images.

What happens if my saddle does not sell?

We cannot promise to find a new home for your saddle, but we do our best to ensure this happens.  We promote the saddles widely and list on websites & socials other than our own. We will keep you updated as often as possible and we are more than happy to chat to you and provide updates whenever you need.

Where are you located?

Head Office is located in the Casino / Kyogle area of northern NSW

What if I know the saddle fits and I don’t want a trial period?

You are welcome to put forward an offer and choose to waive the trial period.  The Saddle Hub will contact the owner and advise if they are happy with the price you have offered.

Do you only sell on consignment?

Yes, we are often asked to purchase or trade saddles, although this is not what our business aims to achieve. We want to offer a service in matching buyers and sellers that is impartial and only offers the best solution when we are talking to a prospective buyer.
